{Preschool} Valentine Party

 Class Valentine Folders

 Painting Activity

Kahlan watching patiently! She got to paint a picture too and it was very hard for me to pull her away from it! She'll get her turn at all the cool stuff Miss Connie's students get to do the fall when she starts preschool! I can't believe she'll be old enough!

 Cookie Decorating...
 and EATING!
Miss Carol read a story and played "Hot Heart" with small groups
Ethan's envelope came home STUFFED with valentine's from his class
Here are a few of the homemade ones that he received this year:

Love Bug Valentine Cards from Ethan:

I had a folder on the computer full of cute ideas Ethan could use for his class valentine cards and after showing him about 10-12 of the cutest homemade valentines ever, he choose these! Pretty cute! I wanted to be sure the girls would be okay with the bug thing and made sure to get them all butterflies on purple paper. The boys got the creepier bugs on blue paper!

Gift for Miss Connie: Cupids Crunch in a Jar
I made this label in Picnik
(right click to open image in a new window. then right click to save to your computer)
Print on white cardstock so it's 11 inches long and then you can make it as wide as you want. I kept a good inch of white paper on each side of the label to fit the height of the jar. Instead of laminating it, I used contact paper.
I added felt heart stickers and ribbon to the back hinge.

Plastic Jar was purchased from Walmart. Any kind would do. If your jar is too wide for the paper to wrap around it like mine was, I added eyelets with my crop-a-dile to a few holes I made and laced up the back with ribbon. This was actually my favorite part of the whole thing! So pretty. Let holes and thinner ribbon would be nice I think.

We lined the inside with a zip valentine bag and filled it with:
Chex Lemon Buddies (aka Cupids Crunch)
9 cups Rice Chex cereal
1 1/4 cup white vanilla baking chips
1/4 cup butter or margarine
4 tsp grated lemon peel
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 cups powdered sugar

Measure cereal into a large mixing bowl and set aside.
In a microwaveable bowl, microwave chips, butter, lemon peel and juice uncovered on high for 1 minute; stir.
Microwave about 30 more seconds or until mixture can be stirred smooth.
Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated.
Pour into a 2-gallon re-sealable food storage plastic bag.
Add powdered sugar, seal bag and shake until all the cereal is well-coated.

*I like to keep these in an airtight container in the freezer and eat them when they are really cold! Tastes great that way and then you can always have them on hand as well for when you need to bring a treat for an activity!
